Your Treatment, Tailored to You

Your visit may include acupuncture and other supportive techniques chosen around your symptoms, comfort, preferences, and goals.

Acupuncture

Fine, sterile needles placed at specific points to support comfort, movement, relaxation, and overall well-being.

Electro-acupuncture

A gentle electrical current added to acupuncture needles for additional stimulation, often used for pain, muscle tension, or nerve-related concerns.

Cupping

Gentle suction applied to the skin to help ease muscle tightness and support circulation; temporary circular marks are common.

Gua Sha

A smooth tool is used with light pressure over the skin to release tight areas and support circulation.

Moxibustion

Gentle therapeutic warmth from the herb mugwort, applied near acupuncture points to promote comfort and circulation.

Acupressure

Focused pressure on acupuncture points using the hands instead of needles.

Lifestyle Guidance

Practical, individualized support with habits such as movement, sleep, stress management, pacing, and self-care when appropriate.

What to Expect

Acupuncture care at Missoula Acupuncture begins with listening. At your first visit, we’ll talk about your health history, current concerns, goals, and the factors that may be affecting how you feel—from sleep and stress to movement, digestion, and relevant medical care.

Your treatment is personalized and may include acupuncture along with other supportive techniques when appropriate. We’ll explain the plan before we begin, check in throughout your visit, and adjust care based on your comfort, preferences, and response over time.

Most patients rest comfortably on a treatment table. Acupuncture uses very thin, sterile, single-use needles; you may notice brief sensations such as warmth, heaviness, tingling, or deep relaxation.accessdata.fda+1

Please let us know if you are pregnant, take blood-thinning medication, have a pacemaker, have a bleeding disorder, or have any health concern that may affect your treatment plan.

Acupuncture and traditional Chinese medicine are complementary approaches and are not a substitute for emergency or primary medical care.
