Before Your First Visit
Check Your Benefits
Call the member-services number on the back of your insurance card and ask:
-
Does my plan cover acupuncture for my reason for care?
-
Is Missoula Acupuncture and Shawn Robertson, LAc in network with my specific plan?
-
Do I need a referral, prescription, or prior authorization?
-
How many acupuncture visits are covered?
-
What will I owe at each visit?
Billing and Payment
If We Bill Your Insurance
When applicable, we submit claims to participating plans. You are responsible for your copay, deductible, coinsurance, non-covered services, visits beyond your plan limit, and any balance your insurance does not pay.
Your insurer provides benefit estimates, but it makes the final coverage decision after processing your claim.
If We Do Not Bill Your Insurance
Payment is due at the time of your visit. We can provide a superbill, an itemized receipt you may submit to your insurer for possible out-of-network reimbursement. Reimbursement is not guaranteed and depends on your plan.
Verifying Benefits Before Your Visit
Review our insurance information and payment options so you know what to expect before your visit. Find helpful questions to ask your insurer and feel more confident planning your care.

20 visits | $2,000
Living with tingling, numbness, burning, sensitivity, or nerve-related discomfort can make everyday things—sleeping, walking, standing, exercising, or simply feeling comfortable in your body—more challenging. You deserve care that listens to your experience and supports the goals that matter most to you.
This 20-visit package offers a steady, personalized course of acupuncture care for ongoing neuropathy-related symptoms. Together, we will pay attention to what is changing, adjust your care as needed, and work toward practical goals such as moving with greater ease, sleeping more comfortably, staying active, or feeling more confident in daily life.
This may be a good fit if you are experiencing:
-
Tingling, numbness, burning, “pins and needles,” or heightened sensitivity
-
Nerve-related discomfort in your hands, feet, legs, or arms
-
Symptoms that make walking, standing, sleeping, or everyday tasks harder
-
Ongoing symptoms related to diabetes, chemotherapy, injury, surgery, illness, or other medical care
A longer plan gives us room to work together. Neuropathy symptoms can change gradually and may not improve in a straight line. Consistent care lets us notice meaningful changes over time and keep your treatment focused on what helps you live more comfortably and do more of what you value.
Please keep your medical care team involved. New, sudden, rapidly worsening, one-sided, or weakness-related symptoms need prompt medical evaluation. Acupuncture is complementary care and does not diagnose, reverse, or replace medical treatment for neuropathy.
